Areas that could be affected include: Tilshead, Orcheston, Shrewton and Berwick St James. The groundwater level at the Tilshead borehole is at 99.01m, and is expected to slowly fall. The forecast remains unsettled, with some moderate showers forecast in the coming days which may cause levels to rise once again into the weekend. Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. Residents may experience inundation of septic tanks and sewer systems. Properties may experience flooding in cellars in affected areas. We are closely monitoring the situation . If you have a pump, make sure it is working and switched on. Groundwater levels are still high across the villages covered by this flood alert area. Flooding is affecting cellars in Nether Wallop and Pitton. Sewerage system impacts are expected to be ongoing in Pitton. Garden flooding is ongoing in Over Wallop. In West Tytherley, groundwater is relatively stable around the level we expect cellar, road and land flooding to occur. Only a small amount of rain (between 10 and 20mm) is forecast to affect Hampshire between Monday 09/03/2026 and Friday 13/03/2026. Over the weekend and into next week, further unsettled weather is possible. Groundwater levels in all villages are expected to slowly fall this week. If heavy rain affects the area, groundwater levels could rise again in the second half of March. We are closely monitoring the situation. High groundwater levels may lead to flooding. Flooding of low-lying areas and roads is possible. Groundwater levels are now falling very gradually at our Water Acre borehole in the Upper Aldbourne Valley. We expect levels to remain high over the next few weeks and levels will remain sensitive to further sustained rainfall. High river levels may lead to flooding. River levels are high on the River Churn. Flooding of low lying land and roads is expected to continue today, 16 March 2026, especially near Cerney Wick. The forecast is for a mostly dry day today and a dry day tomorrow. River levels are falling slowly. We expect river levels to continue to fall gradually over the coming days. River levels are sensitive to further rainfall. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels. Avoid low lying footpaths and roads near rivers, which may be flooded. River Bourne
This is a Flood Alert update. River levels remain high at the Salisbury Bourne river gauge following the recent rainfall and high groundwater levels. Flooding is still possible. Areas most at risk include tributaries between Aughton and Laverstock, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected. No rainfall is forecast over the next few days. We will continue to monitor the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses, and do not attempt to walk, cycle or drive through flood water. Never drive through flood water, just 30cm of fast flowing water is enough to move your car. Check local authority websites for road closures. High river levels may lead to flooding. River levels are high on parts of the River Kennet and its tributaries from Berwick Bassett down to Newbury. Flooding of low lying land and roads remains possible today, 16 March 2026, including the Hungerford area. The forecast is for a mostly dry day today and a dry day tomorrow. River levels are high but falling very slowly. We expect river levels to continue to fall gradually over the coming days. River levels are sensitive to further rainfall. Cellar flooding is expected to be occurring in Appleshaw, Hatherden and possibly Penton Grafton. Sewerage system impacts are ongoing in Appleshaw and Penton Mewsey. The main road into Penton Grafton is flooded, and water is affecting Deacon and Down Road, Kimpton. From Thursday 12/03/2026 into Friday 13/03/2026, between 15 and 20mm of rain is expected to affect Hampshire. Drier weather is expected over the weekend. Groundwater levels are expected to remain very high throughout March. Flooding impacts will likely continue into April. We are closely monitoring the situation .
